I'm planning to install new forums to the site. I have the following already on my Computer and ready to be Uploaded to Simpsons Universe. So our forums will be: www.simpsonsuniverse.net/forums
IPB - Invision Power Board: This Version is 1.3.1, this version was the last free version of IPB available. It is illegal to give away this software, but its not illegal to have. This is my personal favourite of the ones I put up. Example: n-forums.com/
phpBB - php Bulletin Board: The version I have is 2.0.22, all versions of this board are free. This one is used by many of the big sites eg: IGN. But it is not really my favourite, not many features at all. The file size is very small. I guess these big sites wanted to save alot of space. Example: www.rare-elite.com/phpBB
MyBB - My Bulletin Board: The version I have is 1.2.3, all versions of this board are free. This is a lesser know board. It is very nice and easy to use. Example: www.bkbase.zeldadiscussions.com/forums
SMF - Simple Machine Forums: The version I have is 1.1.2, all versions of this board are free. This board has good features. Not very easy to use though. It took me forever to find out how to edit my signiture on it. Example: www.justsimpsons.com/forum
if there are any other free ones.. Unless your willing to pay, please notify me. And remember, the ones you pay for cost $150 + an additional cost for updates every year. So I think its wise to have the free forums.
